FORECASTLE FESTIVAL (KY)
Canceled for 2020 due to Coronavirus
Forecastle is an annual festival gathering of equal parts Music, Arts, and Activism®. It’s a celebration of sights, sounds, and sustainability. Rolling Stone called the event “one of the coolest festivals in America.”
Forecastle, began as a small community gathering in 2002 in one of Frederick Law Olmstead’s famed Louisville parks, but has grown into an internationally recognized festival at Louisville’s Waterfront Park. The multi-day event attracts over 75,000 attendees annually. Previous Forecastle musical guests include Jack White, LCD Soundsystem, The Black Keys, Outkast, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Alabama Shakes, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Widespread Panic, Robert Plant, Cage the Elephant, Pretty Lights, The String Cheese Incident, and many more.
In addition to offering fans a stellar lineup each year, the event infuses regionally authentic experiences found only at Forecastle, such as the Bourbon Lodge and the Forecastle Derby, that pay tribute to two Kentucky legends, the bourbon and the Kentucky Derby.
The 2019 edition is set to take place July 2019 (dates TBA).
